Biography

Caitlin Prokop received her high school diploma from New Britain High School on June 13th, 2024. While at New Britain High School, she was a member of the Academy of Manufacturing, Engineering, and Technology. She was also an AP student and member of the Interact club.

As a member of the Academy of Manufacturing, Engineering, and Technology, Caitlin took courses in video production and graphic design. While enrolled in these classes, she gained skills in basic videography and editing and learned how to use programs such as Adobe Photoshop and Final Cut Pro. Through these classes she contributed to the New Britain High School morning announcements by assisting with lighting, camera work, and scripting.

On August 26th, 2024, Caitlin began her first semester at Central Connecticut State University. She is a Film and Media Production major and has taken classes in film production and media analysis. She is also a member of the CCSU Polish Club and works an on campus job.

In her introductory film production course, Caitlin learned proper filmmaking techniques, specifically in lighting, editing, and filming. She also learned how to use the video editing software Adobe Premiere Pro. For the duration of this course, Caitlin was able to develop a strong foundation for filmmaking through the hands-on experience this course provided her with.

Outside of academics, Caitlin enjoys photography, video editing, and occasionally drawing. She has experimented with different kinds of cameras. She has also dabbled in using Adobe After Effects for video editing. Caitlin also likes to travel and has visited locations such as the Arches National Park in Moab, Utah, and the Portland Head Light in Port Elizabeth, Maine.

Currently, Caitlin is a sophomore at Central Connecticut State University. She is currently taking courses in American Sign Language, film history, and communication technologies, among other subjects. She also remains an active member of the Polish Club and is employed on campus. After graduation, Caitlin hopes to work in the film and television industry.
